The Information Technology Department provides Information Technology Delivery Services and Geographic Information Systems to approximately 500 users working in 23 
Departments or Agencies located in 25 municipal buildings. The Information Technology Department supports enterprise-wide municipal email systems, applications for Finance, E-911, Emergency Medical Services and Geographical Information Systems Data.
The Information Technology Department houses the Geographic Information Systems Division that is responsible for the up keep of mapping data to all county agencies and departments. This division is under the direction of Tom Moreland.
The County website continues to be enhanced, under the guidance of the Information Technology Department, as a tool for residents, employees, business owners and visitors of Madison County. Information Technology provides easy access to important County resources. Overall, the Information Technology Department serves as a technical consultant and provides desktop, network, application and systems management services for all County Departments and for the Madison County community at large.
