Madison County Detention Center
The Madison County Detention Center was built in 1989 then relocated across the street to 107 West Irvine Street, directly behind the Madison County Courthouse. The current jailer is Doug Thomas. The jailer is elected every 4 years in the general election.
The Madison County Detention Center has 35 employees, 31 of which are security staff. All security staff are sworn peace officers by the state of Kentucky, KRS.71.010. The Detention Center is a 24 Hour operation that has office Hours of Monday thru Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00p.m. with a 24 hour window in the rear of the facility if you need assistance.
