Animal Shelter Tips!
Madison County Animal Shelter

A few fall/winter tips from your Animal Control friends at the Madison County Animal Shelter.

Make sure your outdoor canines have fresh unfrozen water and sufficient food, as well as shelter from the elements. Also, if you see a canine that may not be getting these necessary things contact the Madison County Animal Shelter.

Make sure your pets are up to date on vaccinations. Cold weather adds stress to the animals system and may make them more susceptible to illness.

Children are back in school so remember to make sure your pets are contained at bus time, not only could they be injuried by the bus, but some animals become highly excited around large groups of kids and may react unusually in these conditions.

If you see loose canines unattended, especially in cold weather, contact the Madison County Animal Shelter, the canine may be lost or abandoned.

License your dog. Dog Licenses are only $3.00 in Madison County and are the most efficient means of getting your dog back should it become lost.

Lastly, if you are looking for a furry friend to share that spot by the fire with on a cold winters day, adopt a pet from the Madison County Animal Shelter!
